To Oxbridge and beyond: Exciting offers arriving for JAGS pupils

  • 21 pupils receive Oxbridge offers
  • Offers land for pupils planning to study in USA
  • Huge range of diverse courses selected for pupils’ next steps

JAGS pupils are celebrating after receiving a flurry of offers for a wide range of university and vocational courses.

A total of 21 pupils have received offers for places at Oxford (8) and Cambridge (13) in this year’s round of university applications.

The success means one in five pupils from our current Year 13 cohort have received an Oxbridge offer.

At Oxford, this includes offers for Ancient and Modern History; Chemistry (x2); Classics; Classical Archaeology and Ancient History; Engineering; English and Physics.

While Cambridge offers cover Architecture (x2), Computer Science, English (x2), Geography, History of Art, Modern & Medieval Languages (Italian & Portuguese), Law, Natural Sciences (x2) and Theology (x2).

In recent weeks, students planning to study abroad have also seen offers rolling in, including from prestigious institutions such as Tulane University (USA), Georgia Institute of Technology (USA), Pratt Institute (USA),  Purdue University (USA) and Queen’s University (Canada).

At JAGS, we pride ourselves on creating an environment which fosters our pupils’ passions and the eclectic mix of offers they have received from institutions across the country is testament to their individuality.

Speaking of the success, Mrs Alex Hutchinson, Head of JAGS, said: “The range of Higher Education offers received by our Year 13 students – not only to Oxbridge, but to a sparkling variety of prestigious destinations – highlights the emphasis we place on finding the right fit for this aspirational and committed group of individuals here at JAGS.

“It has been a pleasure supporting them thus far on their journey and we look forward to offering continued guidance as they work towards fulfilling their post JAGS aspirations. Their commitment to personal success and the support they themselves offer each other is incredible, enriching the whole Sixth Form community.”

Elsewhere pupils pursuing Medicine, Dentistry, Technical Theatre and Art Foundation courses are preparing for the interview stages of their respective admission processes.
