Junior School Registration
Registration for 4+ and 7+ Entry for September 2026 has now closed. Our application window for September 2027 entry will open in early September 2026 with a deadline of early November for all Junior School registrations.
If you are interested in applying for a Chance Vacancy place please complete an enquiry form via the link below. Please note that the enquiry form is for the forthcoming academic year, with an option to indicate should you be interested in a mid-year place, and we do not hold speculative enquiry forms for future years. Should one or more places become available within the year group applied for, we will invite all those who have submitted an enquiry form to formally register, which involves payment of a registration fee and submission of requested documents, and all those who complete this will be invited in for an assessment. Should a place not become available within the desired year group then you would be welcome to submit a new enquiry form at the start of the subsequent academic year.
Please note that Chance Vacancy assessments for Prep School places (Years 4, 5 and 6) usually involve an online reasoning test and papers in Maths and English (creative writing and comprehension).
Should you be looking for a Chance Vacancy place in Years 5 & 6, please note that it is quite rare that spaces become available in these year groups. Our main point of entry to the Senior School is from Year 7 (11+), where we have a sizeable intake of external students, and you may wish to find out more about the 11+ admissions process instead by clicking here.
Should you have missed either the 4+ or 7+ assessment window and are interested in Chance Vacancy spaces within these year groups, or have any other questions regarding the Junior School Chance Vacancy admissions process please complete the relevant form below or contact Mrs Buffy Handslip on jsadmissions@jags.org.uk

Important notes for Senior School Registration
FOR 11+ APPLICANTS, please visit the Independent Schools’ Examination Board (ISEB) to freely register your daughter for the Common Pre-Test here from June. Information about the tests and tips on preparation can be found here. Please make a note of your daughter’s ISEB Applicant Code, which you will need for the JAGS registration form. If you have already submitted a registration form prior to June, please provide your daughter’s ISEB Applicant Code to the Head of Admissions via email at admissions@jags.org.uk once you have registered her with ISEB, thank you.
FOR ALL ENTRY POINTS AND BEFORE REGISTERING, please note the following points:
1. You will need your daughter’s FULL birth certificate and passport, scanned and uploaded to your computer.
If your daughter does not yet have a passport but at least one parent was born in the UK (as evidenced on the FULL birth certificate) please write on a piece of paper ‘my daughter does not yet have a passport’, and scan and upload when asked for her passport.
If neither parent was born in the UK but at least one now has a UK passport, please upload their UK passport instead.
If your daughter has an overseas passport plus a UK visa or residency paperwork, please detail her residency status in the registration form and scan and upload the documentation.
2. You will need a payment card for the registration fee (or, if applying via the UK registration form for those on benefits/in receipt of Pupil Premium/free school lunches, a scanned copy of a benefits statement/Pupil Premium confirmation from the school). Our registration fee is £240 (£360 for overseas). This is waived on the Pupil Premium registration form.
3. Please note that WHERE BOTH PARENTS HAVE PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY, WE WILL REQUIRE BOTH SETS OF CONTACTS and will need to follow up with you if not provided. Please state in the relevant box if a parent is no longer involved.
We will then process your daughter’s application and send you formal acknowledgment, with details of next steps.

Senior School & Sixth Form SEND Access Arrangements
We work in partnership with families to provide the appropriate support for all our students. The school must be notified in advance of any learning difficulties, disabilities or circumstances which might affect a candidate’s performance in the examination so that special consideration can be given. If you are applying for Extra Time please submit an Educational Psychologist’s report, no older than three years, at the time of registration, and tick the relevant box on the registration form.
Candidates requesting Extra Time in our entrance exams must meet the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) criteria, ie having been assessed by an Educational Psychologist they must have, in different areas related to speed of working:
Either two standardised scores of 84 or below
Or one standardised score of 84 or below and one of between 85-89
Should your daughter not meet this criteria but there are extenuating circumstances, please feel free to contact us to discuss.
Candidates with the following diagnoses, and in receipt of the relevant Educational Psychologist’s report, Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP), Statement of Special Educational Needs or doctor’s note, may warrant (but are not guaranteed) Rest Breaks during assessments:
Medical issues such as Type 1 diabetes or sensory needs
AD(H)D
ASD
Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD)/Dyspraxia
Physical impairment such as a recovering broken arm, vision issues etc
An application for Rest Breaks would need to be verified by an applicant’s current school as their normal way of working. Should you believe that Rest Breaks are warranted for any other reason please contact us.
