JAGS is a community of empowered individuals with a shared voice.
SOCIAL IMPACT REPORT
JAGS has published its first Social Impact Report; encapsulating our ongoing commitment to founder James Allen’s philanthropic vision and showcasing the initiatives, provision and events which make a difference to our community and wider society.
Celebrating our diverse and inclusive community
We are committed to inclusion, diversity and equity to ensure that JAGS is a welcoming environment for absolutely everyone. Whilst every JAGS girl is an individual, each student understands the importance of our school’s shared aims and values, and we nurture our pupils to be respectful, resilient and kind individuals.
We constantly celebrate our diverse and inclusive community, and our pupils and staff are drawn from a dynamic variety of cultural, social and economic backgrounds. Our school is enriched by all forms of diversity, and includes individuals with different ethnicities, languages, religions, cultures, sexual orientation, gender identity, beliefs and needs. We ensure an environment of safety, tolerance, respect for diversity, non-discrimination and equality for all members of our community so they can thrive as individuals and fully enjoy the opportunities that JAGS has to offer to them.
Making a difference
We strive to live as good neighbours, in a community where our extensive local, national and global outreach programmes make a real, tangible difference. We build meaningful partnerships with local schools and organisations through partnership teaching and the sharing of facilities and events.
Through our individual and combined actions, we make a difference.
We champion our commitment to charitable giving, through active participation in a wide range of fundraising activities. All pupils are encouraged to become involved in voluntary and charitable work from a young age. Pupils in the Pre-Prep collect donations for local foodbanks, sing to local care homes at Christmas and raise money for causes close to their hearts. This theme of giving and sharing is threaded through the very heart of the school, and both students and staff feel passionately about philanthropy in its broadest sense.
“Pupils are extremely supportive of each other regardless of background and are encouraging and accepting of differences.”—ISI Report
