Junior School
The School Day
Pre-Prep
The bell goes at 8:30am . Pupils may be dropped off for Early Morning Care between 8:00am and 8:15am. All pupils must be in school by 8:40am for registration. Assembly begins at 8:45am.
School ends at the following times: Reception – 3:15pm; Year 1 – 3:20pm; Year 2 – 3:25pm.
Co-curricular clubs finish at 4:00 – 4:15pm.
Prep
Pupils are welcome to arrive from 8:00am, when a member of staff will be on duty to supervise them. Pupils are asked to arrive by 8.20am when the playground bell is rung. Pupils must be in their classrooms by 8:25am for registration. Assembly begins at 8:40am.
All pupils finish afternoon lessons at 3:30pm. Co-curricular clubs may go on until 4:30pm. Sports Squad training and fixtures may continue until 5:00pm.
Travelling to JAGS
As a school committed to sustainability, we advise pupils to walk, cycle or scoot to school when possible. For those living further afield, the Foundation Schools’ Coach Service drops and collects pupils at all three Foundation Schools from across London. Please note that Year 3 pupils are not permitted to use the coach service until after half-term in the autumn term. Pre-Prep pupils do not use the coach service.
JAGS is located a 5-minute walk from North Dulwich station, with regular trains towards London Bridge, as well as towards Caterham and Beckenham Junction. We are also on the 37, 42 and P4 bus routes.
Uniform
Our uniform is supplied by the Schoolblazer Company and can be ordered online. There are frequent nearly new uniform sales organised by the Parents’ Association, which will be notified to parents well in advance.

Lunch
The majority of our children opt for our school lunches, and girls at the Junior School can enjoy the varied and delicious healthy menus on offer in our bright and airy dining hall. Food is locally sourced wherever possible and there is always a wide selection of choices, catering for every diet.
Wrap-around care
We understand the importance of wrap-around care, and knowing that your daughter will be safe, cared-for and happy before and after school. We currently offer Early Morning Care at the Junior School from 8am, which is free of charge. Breakfast Club from 7.40am and After School Care until 6pm is available at an additional cost, and more details can be obtained from the Pre-Prep or Prep offices.
