Delight for JAGS as pupils receive fantastic GCSE results

Pupils’ hard work and determination rewarded with half of grades at the very highest level.

JAGS Year 11 pupils are today celebrating their successes following the release of GCSE grades.

Today’s results reveal:
• 50% of all results were Grade 9
• 75% of all results were Grade 9 or 8
• 89% of all results were Grade 9, 8 or 7 (equivalent to A* or A)
• 1 in 7 pupils achieved 10 or more Grade 9s

Pupils performed strongly across the full range of subjects during their 2023 GCSE examinations. In total, a remarkable 13 subjects recorded over 90% of pupils earning Grades 9-7 (A*/A), including Maths (95%), Biology (92%), History (92%) and Art (93%).

Head Mrs Alex Hutchinson said: “Approaching your first set of public examinations can appear a daunting task but today’s results are testament to the dedication and determination of our staff and pupils alike.

“We hope our pupils take time today to reflect and very feel proud of their accomplishments – we certainly are.

“As they get ready to launch into their Sixth Form journey, we look forward to welcoming them back in September for the start of their A Level courses. We know they will be incredible role models and student leaders for our community.”
