Science Week 2025
Science Week returned to JAGS, providing students with the opportunity to throw themselves into activities centred around this year’s theme: Change and Adapt.
Excitement filled the school as Hatch Cam was broadcast throughout the week, allowing students and staff the incredible opportunity to witness the magical first moments of life for a brood of fluffy chicks.
There was something for everyone to get involved in during lunchtime workshops: whether that be perfecting the art of making bath bombs or dissecting locusts.
We also hosted an incredible series of assemblies from Falconry UK where students had the pleasure of spending time with a group of majestic bird of prey.
With the help of Blue (the blue-winged kookaburra), Rocco (the African pygmy falcon), Taz (the tawny frogmouth), Brooklyn (the Verreaux’s eagle-owl), and Bailey (the white-faced owl), students developed a greater understanding of how the animals have evolved to thrive in their natural habitats, adapting through unique behaviours, camouflage and hunting techniques.
