Next Steps: University offers begin to roll in for Year 13

The first wave of university offers has arrived at JAGS, with one in five students securing an Oxbridge offer.

JAGS students have earned offers from a wide range of prestigious universities and vocational courses across the UK and beyond.

As ever, we are grateful to our incredible Sixth Form team who have been instrumental in supporting our students through every step of the process.

A total of 20 students have received offers from Oxford (12) and Cambridge (8) in this year’s round of applications, including one student from the 2024 cohort who applied post-A Level.

These offers include a wide range of courses, including: Biology, Chemistry, French, Medicine, Human, Social and Political Sciences (HSPS), History, English and Land Economy.

This eclectic mix of courses is testament to our students’ individuality and the wide array of co-curricular opportunities on offer.

At JAGS, we take pride in cultivating an environment where our pupils can pursue their passions. The diverse range of offers they have received is a true reflection of their unique strengths.

Along with the traditional A level subjects, students have received offers for the following:

Architectural Engineering; Art History & Visual Cultures with Employment Experience; Biology with a Modern Language; Business Economics with Industrial Experience; Chemical Engineering with Environmental Engineering; Classics and English with Beginners’ Latin or Greek; Earth and Environmental Science with a Placement Year; Economics, Finance and Data Science; Educational Psychology; Engineering Mathematics; English and Theatre Studies; Environmental Geoscience; Fashion Design; Geography with Study Abroad in a Modern Language; Graphic and Communication Design; Human, Social and Political Sciences; International Development with a Year Abroad; Language, Culture and Society; Linguistics with a Modern Language with Intercalated Year; Paramedic Science; Theatre and Performance with Enterprise.

Head Alex Hutchinson said: “The impressive range of Higher Education offers received by our Year 13 students reflects the value we place on helping each student find their perfect match here at JAGS.

“We are incredibly proud of their achievements so far and look forward to their continued success in the months ahead.”

Mat Weeks, Head of Sixth Form, added: “We are so proud to see the wide array of degree offers already received and look forward to welcoming more exciting offers in the coming weeks.

“It is a pleasure to work alongside the Class of 2025, witness the role they play in leading our student community and continue to support them as they prepare for their exciting next steps beyond JAGS.”
