JAGS pupils compete in the National Cross Country finals
Pupils travelled to Newquay to compete in the National Cross Country finals.
The Junior and Inter Cross Country teams made up of 11 pupils from Years 7 to 10 travelled to Newquay to compete in the National Cross Country finals on Saturday. In brutal weather conditions, the teams ran exceptionally well against some of the best school runners in the country. The Schools Cross Country Cup is a team competition, with teams of six, and the top four in the race scoring towards the team total. The Inter team started the event off and finished in an amazing 8th place. A incredible effort from the team to finish 8th in the country! This was then followed by the Junior team closing proceedings and finishing in a very credible 10th place in the country. An even better achievement considering the team is made up of five pupils from Year 7 and just one from Year 8. Well done to all pupils for an amazing race and a great weekend with Miss Smith and Miss Whyte.
