JAGS competes in school’s first ever rowing event
A historic day for the school as pupils took to the river for our first ever rowing race.
The team was made up of eight Year 11 pupils and one Sixth form pupil. They participated in a Christmas friendly against several other schools and performed exceptionally well. The team was competing against teams that have been rowing for many years, and our pupils had just one term on the river getting accustomed to the boats and how to row. It was a phenomenal achievement by this group of committed pupils! Miss Smith also deserves a lot of praise for her drive and determination with the rowing groups. We are hopeful that we will be able to introduce rowing to the younger year groups in the coming years, to further grow and enhance this programme.
