James Allen’s Girls’ School has appointed Ms Victoria Goodson to be the next Head of their Junior School from September 2022. She will replace Ms Finola Stack who has been Headteacher of the Junior School since 2007.

James Allen’s Girls’ School has appointed Ms Victoria Goodson to be the next Head of their Junior School from September 2022. She will replace Ms Finola Stack who has been Headteacher of the Junior School since 2007.

Speaking about her appointment, Victoria said, “I am delighted to be joining as Head of the Junior School and am very much looking forward to getting to know everyone at JAGS.  I am wholeheartedly committed to continuing the excellent work of the School in offering an inspiring, ambitious, and holistic education for all pupils.”

Victoria will join JAGS at an exciting time as the school moves forwards with its strategic plan; developing the learning environment, championing a diverse and inclusive community and fulfilling its ambition to be carbon neutral by 2030.

Alex Hutchinson, Head of JAGS said: “Victoria has a wealth of experience leading within the Junior School sector with a long-standing commitment to outstanding pastoral care whilst ensuring academic standards are of the highest quality.  I am confident that Victoria will continue the excellent work of Finola Stack and I am looking forward to working closely with her during this transformative period as we realise the vision of our strategic development plan.”

Victoria is a graduate of Durham University and holds a Master’s degree in Education Leadership and Management.  She joins JAGS from Sydenham High School GDST, where she has been Head of the Prep School since 2019. Prior to this Victoria was Deputy Head (Lower School) at Newton Prep, London where she worked for 12 years, Head of Rowan Brae, Surrey for two years and Head of Junior School at Tower House School, London for five years.

Originally from Norfolk, Victoria attended a girls’ school where she particularly enjoyed the arts and sport and was an active member of the orchestra, choir and madrigal groups. Victoria enjoys spending time with her partner and their two children, as well as the latest addition to the family, a rather lively kitten. She is a keen baker and, when she has the opportunity, loves playing tennis.

The school community very much looks forward to welcoming Victoria in September 2022.
