The School Day
There is always lots going on at both the Pre-Prep and Prep School. On this page you will find useful information about the daily routine ensuring everyone's day runs smoothly.
The doors are opened at 8.30 am. The girls may go directly to their classrooms. The girls must be in school by 8.40 am for registration. Assembly begins at 8.50am.
School ends at the following times: Reception - 3.15 pm; Year 1 - 3.20 pm; Year 2 - 3.25 pm.
Children are welcome to arrive from 8.05 am, when a member of staff will be on duty to supervise them in the playground (or Inner Hall if the weather is bad). If children arrive before 8.05 am, parents or carers should remain with them until a member of staff arrives. Children must be in their classrooms by 8.25am for registration. Assembly begins at 8.35 am.
All the children finish afternoon lessons at 3.30 pm. Extra-curricular clubs may go on until 4.15 or 4.30pm. Sports Squad training and fixtures may continue until 5.00pm.
Parents of Prep School pupils (aged 7+ to 10+) are welcome to apply for coach places for their children. Year 3 pupils are not permitted to use the coach service until after half-term in the Autumn Term. Full details of which areas the coach service covers can be found here.
Children have the choice of bringing in their own packed lunch or having a school lunch, the cost of which is added to the fees. The great majority of children opt for school lunch. Year 3 pupils are required to have school lunch unless prevented by extenuating personal circumstances. Vegetarian food is always available. Spring menus available here:
In addition to reading regularly at home, we ask the children to commit to the following homework schedule:
