Wien war wunderbar

Senior School School Trip

In February Half Term 2017 thirteen Sixth Formers and two language teachers travelled to Austria’s magnificent capital city. We discovered a lot of history and art, sampling Vienna’s Imperial past by visiting the beautiful Schönbrunn palace and having a guided tour around the historic Hofburg Quarters.

Art lovers enjoyed a tour of the highlights of the impressive Kunsthistorisches Museum and the famous Klimt collection housed in the splendid Belvedere Palace.

We also visited Siegmund Freud’s original living and working quarters, hummed the Harry-Lime-theme whilst riding the vintage ferris wheel in Vienna’s charming Prater fairground, took lots of photos of the quirky Hundertwasser-Haus and obviously enjoyed all the local culinary specialities ranging from Schnitzel to various coffees and cakes.
