Building work starts on JAGS new music centre

Whole School News

Work is gathering pace on James Allen’s Girls’ School new music centre.  Our old car park is getting smaller as holes are getting deeper. Keep an eye on our website where we will regularly be posting time lapse film of the development.

Looking at the current hole in the ground, it’s hard to believe but ‘keys’ to the hall will be handed over in time for our school Christmas concert in 2017. In Spring 2018 the classrooms and other facilities will be ready to use. Facilities will include:

  • A 500 seat multi-use hall
  • Seven new classrooms
  • Three new IT suites
  • 15 individual practice rooms
  • Music staff office space (to accommodate Senior, Prep and JASSPA staff)
  • A central school reception point
  • An outdoor quad area

This new building will add to the existing school facilities already shared with the local community and will create a bold new school frontage improving our kerb appeal within the local neighbourhood.
