2017 looks set to be another great year for our Sixth Form students as university offers start to come in. Fourteen Sixth Formers have been offered places at Oxford or Cambridge to read a diverse range of subjects including History, Engineering, Chemistry, Law, English and Languages.
“Students at JAGS should be proud of their university offers. They have worked hard and prepared themselves marvellously well. In addition to the 14 places offered by Cambridge and Oxford Colleges, I am equally impressed by the offers being received from a variety of other leading institutions for an array of different undergraduate courses. Well done to all!” Head of Sixth Form, Matthew Weeks
Head Girl, Faaria Khan has been offered a place to read Engineering at Pembroke College, Oxford. “Studying at Oxford has been an ambition of mine for many years and so receiving an offer came with a whole wave of emotions: relief, excitement and some initial disbelief. The waiting period between my interview and the decision had been emotionally draining. Nevertheless I feel incredibly humbled and excited at the tremendous opportunity I’ve been afforded.
However I’m very aware that without the guidance, support and encouragement I’ve received from the teachers and staff at JAGS this wouldn’t have been possible. Without sounding too melodramatic, they believed in me before I believed in myself. For this I will be forever grateful.”
Ten JAGS girls have been offered places at Cambridge to read: Religion & Theology, Classics, English (x2), History & Russian, History (x2), Law, HSPS and Natural Sciences. Four pupils will be heading off to Oxford to read Engineering, Chemistry, History and Languages.
