A very special thank you to Mrs Birt for coming in to school on Monday moring to present an assembly about Chinese New Year. She told the children about her family's celebrations as a child growing up in Singapore. 2012 is the year of the Dragon, the only mythical animal in the Chinese Zodiac. To end the assembly some children from Year 2 dressed in our lion costume and danced around the Hall to the sound of tambourines and loud rhythmical clapping. The children also each took home a 'Hong Bao' containing a gold chocolate coin.
