Y5 outing to Wimbledon Buddhist Temple

It was an amazing day but my favourite bit was when we saw the temple and when we first stepped inside it. I hadn't expected anything so spectacular; the gold looked so real.

I really enjoyed meditating, although I haven't quite got the hang of it yet. It must be really special living there surrounded by peaceful beauty.

It felt like I had been transported to Thailand. I couldn't believe that I was still in London.

I found the Buddhist faith interesting. I was fascinated when you talked about the lotus flower. The comparison between the lotus flower and a baby: when you are a baby you cannot walk or talk, so you start in the mud and then you learn things and grow up, out of the water like the flower, and bloom beautifully like the lotus flower.
