Swimming, fencing, shooting and running for GB

We are very proud of Sophie Parkes, Year 10, who was selected to represent Great Britain in an International Tetrathlon match competing against Portugal, Hungary, Ireland and France at Gloucester on 5 March.

It was a really good experience, especially staying in the same hotel and mixing with the international competitors. Sophie did remarkably well, achieving a Personal Best in the 200m swimming race, and she enjoyed the combined shooting and running challenge - a repetition of shooting 5 targets and running 1000m three times. Sophie hasn't trained specifically in fencing; in fact she's only had a couple of lessons. Sophie came 25th overall and should be very pleased with herself. Congratulations Sophie!
