It’s a little girl’s dream to be in ‘Ballet Shoes’ and for 12 year old Clodagh Meadhbh Kelsh, a dream come true. As part of the touring company of 12, Clodagh danced  her socks off for the show, playing a pupil at the ballet school, a fairy and the Cheshire Cat. For those physically unable to get to the performances at the Peacock Theatre in London’s West End, the tour reached out to them. Clodagh writes vividly about rehearsals,  performances and birthdays. “I loved it, I loved the thrill of it, I even loved the mad runs back and forth from the stage whilst trying to undo your partner’s hook and eye on their fairy costume, and thinking about what your next steps are, and what costume you need to get into and the quickest way to do it up! My favourite performance was probably at the Evelina children’s ward at St Thomas’s hospital.  I liked this performance best because it meant something to me. These children were my age, they had so much courage and hope.” Read more .....

You can see ‘ Rumpelstiltskin ’, the next West End production between 28 April and 1 May. London Children’s Ballet is a charity, entirely dependent on fundraising and ticket income from its annual production in the West End to carry out the charitable creative, community and educational work they do. Please support them.
