Musik + X
All girls studying German in Years 8, 9 and 10 had the chance to sample current trends in German pop music in this interactive exhibition inside the O2 arena on the Greenwich peninsula. The event was organised by the Goethe institute and is travelling the whole world, next stop: Helsinki...
We were able to find out more about German pop, indie, hip hop and techno with the help of lots of clips, artefacts and information displays. Girls participated in 2 German music quizzes and also had the chance to make their own souvenir badges. The winning group of 5 students in Year 10 got sweets and key rings and everyone (including the teachers) got a free t-shirt at the end.
A fun and informative day and we all agreed that the current German music scene is truly well and alive. Quoting Hamburg's indie band Tocotronic: "Let there be rock!".
Thanks to everyone involved.
