Book Week
On Monday the Y5 and Y6 girls were treated to a session by the author Marcus Sedgwick, talking about his Raven Mysteries series which included much audience participation! On Tuesday, Steve Cole, a hugely entertaining author, came and gave hilarious talks to the Y3 and Y4 girls about his Astrosaurs and Slime Squad books. On Wednesday the whole school was treated to storytelling sessions by Sally Pomme Clayton based on Greek myths and Indian folk tales. On Thursday many girls enjoyed browsing and buying books at the Village Books sale. The week culminated in a marvellous array of imaginative, colourful costumes; we were also treated to a hilarious sketch on Alice in Wonderland by Miss Payne, Miss Raimes, Mr Spencer and Mrs March, who were all the well-deserving winners of the staff prize. Many thanks to Mrs Springall of Village Books who had the difficult task of judging the winners.
