‘I Remember’

20th Exhibition of Young Art in aid of Cancer Research UK

11th - 13th May 2010

The Royal College of Art, Kensington Gore, London SW7

‘I Remember’ is this year’s theme for the 20th annual ‘Young Art’ exhibition in aid of Cancer Research UK. In January a total of 7,437 entries were received from 92 schools. Young Art is most fortunate to have the support of its distinguished Patron, Professor Ken Howard RA and Dr Paul Thompson, Rector and Vice-Provost of the Royal College of Art, who selects the Rector's Prize from the A-level entries. This year's Exhibition was judged by leading artists, Humphrey Ocean RA, Chris Orr RA., William Packer, Alan Ramsay and Nicola Bayley. Young Art is also delighted to have the continuing support of Sir Christopher Frayling.

We are delighted that ten pupils from James Allen’s Girls’ School have been selected for the exhibition with Annecy Attlee in the A level category winning the highly prestigious Rector’s Prize.

Also exhibiting in the exhibition in the GCSE category are, Alexandra Wilson, Alice Parker, Caroline Martin, Amber-Lily Fraser, Abigail Karas, Bethia Ruttle, Emily Scorer and Nathalie Power and in the Year 7 – 9 category, Freya Turner.

The selection includes a variety of media, including painting, drawing, textiles and printmaking.

All pupils will receive a special certificate to mark their achievements and they have been invited to attend an award ceremony and private view at the Royal College of Art with their families on 11 May.
