The Election Story at JAGS

5 May: Hustings/6 May: Voting/10 May: JAGS Returning Officer announces a high turn-out of 85% and the results in alphabetical order as follows:

Hari Conner for the Green Party: 97 (14%); Andie Gbedemah for the Labour Party: 104 (15%); Alice Parker for the Liberal Democrats: 244 (34%); Alex Wilson for the Conservatives: 257 (36%).

In a national election these results would convert to a hung parliament with Conservatives and Liberal Democrats as largest parties.

It was a great experience for the candidates and their teams; the mechanics for voting was organised by the Politics department in the same way as for a national election. We hope the JAGS electorate will go on being excited about their chance to influence government.   For more photos please see the Gallery
