Despite the weather, the athletics season is well underway and we have lots to celebrate at JAGS. Congratulations to the following girls for their performance at the County Athletics Championships:

Vicky Picken won silver in the Surrey U13 1500m and has now been chosen to represent Surrey

Grace de Rome won bronze in the Kent U15 1500m

Yemisi Sofolarin won silver in the Kent U15 discus. Yemisi threw the discus 30.14m and is now ranked 6th in the country for her age group. An outstanding achievement!

Sophie Parkes won double gold in the Kent U15 800m and 1500m

We are crossing our fingers for 15 year old Katie Snowden who has been selected to represent GB and NI at the European Youth Olympic Trials in Moscow on 21-23 May, running in the U17 1000m race. What tremendous experience!

Senior tennis v Croydon High - Lost

Y7 athletics v 8 Bromley schools - Won (Victoria Picken broke the U12 1500m record)

Y 8,9 &10 athletics v Alleyn’s & Bromley - Won (Yemisi Sofolarin broke the U13 discus record)

U12 a/b/c/d rounders v Bromley High - Won all four

U13 rounders v Alleyn’s - A lost, B won, C won, D won
