Spring
Now that it’s 2010, the Olympics suddenly seem much closer, and one of our talented sports players, Year 10 Holly Mozley, is aiming to be ready for selection herself one day. She has just gained the qualifying time for the GB rowing trials in October, a result of hard training 6 days a week doing circuits here, on the rowing machine at Dulwich College and on the water at Hinksey, Oxford.
We have also had confirmation of the girls who have qualified for the National Biathlon Finals at Crystal Palace in March. Congratulations to the Year 8 team of Natasha Sinha, Greta Sharp and Isobel Kelsh, plus individual qualification for Natasha Sinha, Grace de Rome, Sophie Parkes and Katie Snowden.
The U12 & U13 Netball teams took part in the Surrey preliminary tournament last week. The Year 7s won their tournament and the Year 8s came 2nd in their section. Both teams have therefore qualified for the Surrey finals in March. Congratulations.

It was good to see Lucy Boynton acting in the drama documentary ‘Mo’, based on Mo Mowlam’s life and starring Julie Walters and David Haig last night.
We’re proud of our fantastic pupils who show so much awareness of others. Year 11 Hannah Bettridge, is raising funds for Henry’s Trust, in aid of a Year 13 pupil at Dulwich College, paralysed following a swimming accident. Indigo Ellis and Rachel Smyth spoke movingly to the school last week about what they’d gained from their visit to Auschwitz-Birkenau (click here to read more).
The sixth form group who organised this year’s multicultural evening, ‘Genesis’, on 29 January are thrilled to announce that they will be sending a cheque in excess of £1500 to their chosen charity, Invisible Children. A separate report will follow, but these two photos give a flavour of the event.
