On Thursday 14 January 130 parents of girls in Years 8 & 9 gathered in the Holst Hall to hear a presentation from Dr Geraldine Strathdee, Associate Medical Director for Mental Health in London. She spoke about the challenges facing today’s teenagers and their parents. Later, parents themselves were presented with some case studies to discuss in groups which were then discussed in a final plenary session. Dr Strathdee’s talk was useful and informative and as an ex-parent and current Governor, she was able to offer very pertinent advice as well as practical parenting strategies.
