What a great weekend for JAGS sports!
Our Year 8 Biathlon team (Isabel Kelsh, Greta Sharp and Natasha Sinha) were placed first in the National Biathlon Finals at Crystal Palace on Sunday 21 March, and even got to hold the 1948 Olympic torch. Congratulations!
Individually, Natasha Sinha was placed 4th and awarded a gold medal for the fastest run in her year group. Greta was placed 5th and Isabel 30th. In Year 9 Sophie Parkes was placed 4th and Grace de Rome 11th. In Year 11 Katie Snowden was placed 7th and awarded a gold medal for the fastest run.
From JAPS, Year 6 Breagha Campbell came 3rd in her age group and she doesn't train with a club in either swimming or running!
That was Sunday. On the Saturday our Year 7 and 8 hockey teams won the Thomas’ Hockey Tournament; and we had very good results at the English Schools’ Cross Country in Manchester with over 20 girls qualifying to represent the school – two of them (15 year old Katie Snowden and 13 year old Natasha Sinha) turned round swiftly to perform brilliantly at Crystal Palace on Sunday! Oh to have the energy! Sophie Parkes, Natasha Sinha, Georgie Hay, Ashleigh Campbell, Greta Sharp and Rebecca de Rome were well placed, but particular congratulations go to Grace de Rome (19 th out of 359 Junior Girls), Katie Snowden (14th out of 335 Intermediate Girls) and Julia Wedmore (34th out of 277 Senior Girls).
13 year old Natasha Sinha is having quite a month; on 31st March she will be swimming butterfly at the British Swimming Championships in Sheffield, alongside stars like Rebecca Adlington. She is on the Amateur Swimming Association’s England talent programme.
Well done to everyone who took part in events this weekend. What a performance.
