All girls studying Drama at GCSE and A level (all 110 of them) visited the Rose Theatre in Kingston this week to see , Stephen Unwin’s richly enjoyable, beautifully designed revival of Hay Fever.
Coward’s comedy of bad manners where the bohemian Bliss family squabble, misbehave and often rudely ignore their guests was as fresh and funny as ever thanks to great performances including Celia Imrie as the melodramatic but also touching Judith Bliss and the Alexandra Gilbreath as an outrageously vampish Myra who “uses sex as a shrimping net”.
