Perhaps it isn’t surprising how quickly things settle into shape in the new school year. We don’t hang about! In the past week we have already held two Parents’ Information Evenings – one for new Year 7 parents to meet each other, and one for Year 12 parents and girls. Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme training started last weekend; the Drama department  hosted a touring theatre company production of ‘The Forecast’ for Year 10-13 Drama students on Thursday; the Year 11 Geographers measured and recorded data on a blustery beach in Hastings on Friday; Year 13 leavers  enjoyed a reunion drink with the Alumnae Co-Ordinator and Development team on Thursday and Rochana and Zara, two ex-Y13 singers, graced the Friends of Dulwich Picture Gallery fundraiser – Jazz in the Garden – on Saturday, with Charles Cary-Elwes and a professional band.

We’re also gearing up for visiting speakers, for auditions for the Year 7-9 House Drama, rehearsals for three school productions (two in league with Dulwich College), a Foundation Schools’ Concert, a James Allen Community Orchestra Concert and training for lots of sports too. Please look at the website calendars for events. There’s so much to look forward to – in every subject. Headmistress Mrs Marion Gibbs asked everyone to think of ways in which they might show initiative and get involved.
