Biology, Chemistry and Physics blended in a potent mix. The lively session began with a demonstration of colourful magic chemical painting of a flowering plant and links to photosynthesis. An active sample of elodea was producing oxygen gas. The Year 5 girls then had lots of fun making and testing for three different gases in an enthusiastic practical session.
The colourful theme extended into a little physics, splitting white light with a prism into a spectrum and mixing red, blue and green light. A brilliant taster of the excitement to come in Science lessons at JAGS!
