IAPS National Swimming Finals
On Saturday 16 May, a team of JAPS girls participated in the IAPS National Swimming Finals at the K2 in Crawley. Breagha Campbell swam in the U10 25m backstroke heats and was the fastest qualifier for the finals with a time of 17.39. In the final session Breagha came 2nd in a time of 17.79. Sophie Lewis Ward swam in the U10 25m freestyle and swam a personal best in a time of 16.40, coming 10th overall.
The Y5 freestyle relay team consisted of Breagha Campbell, Sophie Lewis Ward, Megan Mirchandani, Georgia Gibson, reserve: Rosa Collier. They swam extremely well in a time of 1:07:14, breaking the school record and coming 6th overall.
The Y6 freestyle relay team consisted of Isabel Evans, Iris Best, Madeleine Capstick, Katie Aitchison, reserve: Victoria Picken.
Both teams swam faster than their qualifying times which is fantastic. Very well done to everyone!
