Young Writer’s Award Winner
We are delighted to learn that Poppy Naylor, 4W, has won the Polka Theatre’s 2009 Young Writer’s Award; her story will be performed at 4.00pm at the Polka Theatre on Saturday 13 June. The competition is entitled ‘Writing the World’ because each year the stories are to be inspired by a different country; this year was India. The competition is judged by a panel of judges from the theatre and the children’s author, Geraldine McCaughrean. There were around 400 entries in Poppy’s section.
