FRENCH WEEK AT THE PRE-PREP: Week beginning 18 May 2009
The children experienced various aspects of French culture during a week of wonderful events at the Pre-Prep. An amazing quantity of croissants, pains au chocolat and crêpes were consumed during rec on Monday and the children really enjoyed hearing their favourite stories told in French on Monday afternoon. More food was on offer on Tuesday afternoon during the ‘Dégustation’ when the children were able to sample more French culinary delights including snails, frogs’ legs and an assortment of cheese. On Wednesday morning the whole school enjoyed the visit by the French theatre company ‘Frog & Rosbeef’ which presented ‘Mission 2468’, an entertaining spy story about a French lady called Mathilde who cracked the code of the computer at The Bank of England. For Year Two, the highlight of the week was the visit by Eurostar to Lille where they went to Le Marché de Wazemmes; ate lunch in a local restaurant; and visited Le Musée des Beaux-Arts and Le Parc de La Citadelle.
