Spring
In from the Cold
On Wednesday, 11 February 6 A level students and 2 Geography staff attended a fascinating lecture by Ms Stephanie Ward on ‘The Tomsk Taiga Research Project, Siberian Forests: Economy versus Environment’ at the Great Britain – Russia Society in Pushkin House, Bloomsbury.
This was a ‘first’ for us and away from our usual lecture hall at the Royal Geographical Society. It covered points of interest for girls studying sustainable development and glacial landscapes in their Geography course and was a useful inter-disciplinary event for one of our Geographers who is also studying Russian and hopes to spend part of her ‘Gap’ year in that country.
