3 words: courtesy, care and consideration, a way of thinking which we hope permeates our every action throughout our time at JAGS. In our senior school assembly, Headmistress Mrs Gibbs also reminded us of how important each one of us is to the JAGS community, no matter how senior we are. Handing out the badges to the new form captains in Year 8 and above (the Year 7s need time to know each other before they vote), she outlined some of the skills they would need to show: the patience to listen, a willingness to lead by example, to engage and to inspire. Well done to all those girls chosen by their peers to represent them this term.

We have talented sports leaders among us. Congratulations to this year’s Sports Captains:

Hockey (U18 and 1st X1) Captain: Hattie Robinson; Vice: Kitty Kent

Hockey (U16) Captain: Emily Watson

Netball Captain: Rebecca de Rome; Vice: Katie Tyndall

Swimming Captain: Georgia Phillips; Vice: Alex Eastwell

Cross Country Captain: Julia Wedmore; Vice: Katie Snowden

Dance Captains: Andie Gbedemah and Saskia Phelps

Gym Captain: Bryony Gill

The Head Girls, Julia Wedmore, Grace Johnson and Charlotte Parks-Taylor, issued a warm welcome back to everyone and a special greeting to the new Year 7, together with their first message for the year: Try something different!
