A table laden with fruit, vegetables, groceries and a harvest loaf set the scene for this morning’s Harvest Assembly attended by children, staff and members of the Parents’ Association.  Joining them was Canon Dianna Gwilliams from St Barnabas Church   The children sang three songs (Autumn’s Back, Harvest Samba, & Paintbox) beautifully and four children read out their  harvest, acrostic poems.  Canon Gwilliams’ talk was about helping others and the children were very entertained by her use of props.  At rec the children shared the special harvest loaf.  Year Two visited the Holmhurst Centre later in the day where they sang their harvest songs to the elderly ladies and gentlemen and even gave a much applauded encore.  The harvest gifts were distributed between Holmhurst and charities supporting the homeless.
