Autumn
Every so often it is good to take stock of where we’re going and how we approach our goals. Stephen Coppin and Megan Hutchinson from The Life Skills Company came to work with Year 10 recently in a session called ‘Maximising Our Success’. It was an intense, dynamic way to enhance the girls’ range of study skills, but the interactive approach made the accelerated learning a lot of fun, and sometimes took them completely by surprise: would you have thought of counting in Welsh to focus your memory skills?
Across the year, girls teamed into small groups to explore different techniques in a friendly relaxed environment. Here is a sample of their feedback:
It gave me many ideas on how to revise and how to organise my workload.
Everything was set out clearly and ideas and ways to revise and work in the future were cleverly designed and presented.
I liked the different methods of revision I learnt, especially the trident method that helps to condense long passages.
It was a very useful experience as I now have many new ways to revise which can only be a good thing!
…..And a promise that the morning was life-changing for at least one girl:
I do not think I revise efficiently, but now I will.
