Autumn

Back to school for the second half of the term in glorious sunshine, filled with good intentions and the promise of good things to come.  Three successful trips over half-term to Barcelona, Montpellier and a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme Silver Expedition gave those involved a new perspective on life. Our assembly touched on seeing every day as a new beginning for each of us.

The JAGS community is made up of exceptional individuals, some of whose talents we celebrated  today. We are very proud of Rochana Jackson who will be representing London in the Grand Finals of Open Mic UK, a national talent competition for vocalists of all genres, on Saturday 28 November with her own composition, ‘Coming Back For More’. If she wins, the title brings £25,000 of professional management and a recording contract.

Many congratulations to all the girls who took part in the Regional round of the National Schools Biathlon competition on Sunday 1 November. We had some outstanding individual and team results:

Year 7 – Victoria Picken – 3rd  overall and Tarini Tripani – 4th overall.

Year 8 – Natasha Sinha – 1st  in the run, 1st in the swim, 1st overall and first in the team event , Greta Sharp – 2nd overall and 1st in the team event , Isabel Kelch – 3rd overall and 1st in the team event.

Year 9 – Sophie Parkes – 2nd overall and 1st in the team event , Grace de Rome – 3rd overall 7 1st in the team event and Johanna Mandal – 1st in the team event.

Year 10 – Sarah Young – 5th overall and  2nd in the team event , Charli Holland – 2nd in the team event and Phoebe Kitchen – 2nd in the team event.

Year 11 – Katie Snowden – 1st in the run and 1st overall.

Year 13 – Julia Wedmore – 6th overall.

As Natasha and Katie were outright winners in their age groups they automatically qualify for the National Finals in March. Individual results and team results from around the country will determine if some other girls from JAGS qualify for the final depending on the points they gained yesterday. Well done everyone!
