Olympiad Medal


Olympics fever has come early to JAGS: we have just heard that Sian Evans, Year 8, has received a bronze medal for the Olympiad paper (the follow-on round) of the Junior Maths Challenge.  This is a fantastic achievement.
 
More than 240,000 sat the maths challenge, and Sian was one of 1200 who were invited to take the advanced exam. The knowledge and skills required are often beyond the range of normal school work and only the outstandingly successful candidates receive a medal.
 
Congratulations to Sian and to the Maths department for their teaching and encouragement.
