Water Aid

For the past 6 years, the Geography Department has run a Sponsored Water Week to raise funds for the international charity Water Aid, whose mission is to overcome poverty by enabling the world's poorest people to gain access to safe water, sanitation and hygiene education. These are issues which are discussed as part of the Geography course, and lots of girls in Years 7, 8 and 9 want to get involved.

Girls get sponsors to support them to drink water in place of any other drink – fruit juice, Coke, tea etc for five days. They eat as normal and are allowed milk in their cereal! Last year JAGS raised £2,300 which is currently being used to help fund a scheme in Burkina Faso.

This year, Drink Water Week begins on Monday 9th June and lasts for 5 days. If you want to sponsor a pupil, please sign her form; alternatively, contact the Geography department. The girls want to do even better this year!

For more information please see the school calendar.
