Maths, JAGS and Goldman Sachs

If you want to know about how Mathematics is used in the city, just ask Iona Ballantyne, Caitlin Burtonshaw and Hannah Cannell. After a demanding Financial Maths Day with Goldman Sachs on 13 March, these Year 12 girls are a little further on than the rest of us in their understanding of the complexities of financial markets. The girls were able to see for themselves some seriously applicable and very elegant mathematics. We think they may have a taste for it! They certainly shone on the day, and there were very positive comments from the organisers on their teamwork and on the excellent contribution they made to the success of the day.
