Welsh Cross Country Championships Swansea

Congratulations to JAGS Spanish teacher, Clare Martin, on her stunning victory in the senior women’s race at Swansea on Sunday 24 February.

Clare Martin, who runs with Wells City Harriers, will be delighted to win the senior ladies title, a little unexpectedly, as she admits . Clare’s London Marathon preparation is definitely going well; she took to the front from the gun, and moved steadily away to take the victory by over a minute from Swansea competitor, Catherine Dugdale, her long time rival, who was after her ninth victory.

Over a minute! That’s style!

Clare will now be an elite starter in the London Marathon. Another JAGS teacher, Bryony Britten, History department, will be running the Marathon. Both would love to hear you shouting for them! Bryony would also be pleased to hear from anyone who would like to sponsor her on behalf of two charities: the MS Society and the Juba Diocesan Model Secondary  School (JDMSS). There is a report on Byony’s link with this school in Sudan in the News item, 28 November 2007.
