Latin Reading Competition
On Wednesday 5 March a party of keen Latinists went from JAGS to City of London Boys’ School to take part in the annual Greek and Latin Reading Competition run by the Classical Association for all schools in London.
Antonia Skinner and Laura Roberts from Year 8 enacted a scene from the Cambridge Latin Course, Holly Plumeridge (Year 10) recited a poem by Catullus, and Nicola Ingram and Zofia Bakowska (Year 12) delivered an antiphonal poem by Horace.
All the girls gave excellent performances, but were up against very stiff comeptition, and we were delighted that Holly won 2nd prize in the pre-GCSE group.
Congratulations to Holly, to all the team for the hard work they put into their preparation, and to the understudies (Anjuli Kumar and Daisy Horan in Year 8) for their keen interest and support.
