As part of the ‘Peers in Schools’ programme, Baroness O’Cathain came to Jags to give a talk to Y12 and Y13 Politics students about the work of the House of Lords. The pupils were very interested to hear about the relationship between the Commons and the Lords, the Committee work of the House and some of the bills currently under debate and scrutiny. Baroness O’Cathain invited many questions from the pupils and responded with frank and insightful views on issues such as the future of the Lords and the role of women in Parliament.
