JAGS girls know they are lucky for all sorts of reasons at school: for the outstanding opportunities they have to learn and new facilities they can enjoy; JAGS teachers have the freedom to teach innovative material and the resources they need to deliver a stimulating education.
It can be much harder. JAGS History teacher, Bryony Britten, recently returned from a short trip to Juba, Southern Sudan. Her remarkable report, which follows, shows us how to look at education from a different perspective: to re-interpret what we mean by it, to re-invent goals, as well as to learn from the bright-eyed optimism and inspiration of the Sudanese people.
