Once Upon a Story…..classes are designed and taught by Gemma McMillian. They use plenty of props, fun themes and movement.  During each term classes explore a broad range of stories including traditional, topical and original.  Every child is encouraged to take an active part in sharing the re-telling of stories, through:

Characterisation - exploring physical and vocal qualities

Improvisation - developing spontaneity, self-confidence and group awareness

Team work - working together in a creative, focussed and disciplined  manner

OPEN CLASS - There is no formal performance for Jasspa’s 4-6 year olds, but parents are invited to watch the penultimate lesson of each term.  This is an opportunity to see your child working with their peers and teacher and for your child to show the journey they take each week with Once upon a story…..

For new children joining a class parents are welcome to attend the first session.

How to apply - Unlike other group lessons at Jasspa, Once Upon a Story ...classes are booked termly and new pupils are allocated a place when a space becomes available.

We are expecting lots of places for September 2009  as our Year 1’s will move up and on from Once Upon A Story…. to dance and drama classes. To join our waiting list please return the enclosed Once upon a story…….. application form and deposit.

TIME OF CLASS - Once Upon a Story... classes will be worked into the main Jasspa timetable, thereby enabling children with older siblings to link lesson times more closely.

Classes last for 45 minutes and will be scheduled between 9.00am and midday. As with all other Jaspa classes, exact lesson times will be confirmed during July when the full timetable is pieced together. See application form for more details.
