Musequality
Last summer we were introduced to Musequality when David Juritz, leader of the London Mozart Players, busked his way around the world in order to raise money for this very special musical charity. You too may have seen some of the press coverage David received, as there were regular reports of his whereabouts from the BBC. Inspired by both David and Musequality, Jasspa supported this charity through a staff concert held on Sunday 24th February and a sponsored music practice fortnight by Jasspa music pupils.
The Musequality concert was a sell out success!!
A huge thank you to everyone involved with Sunday's concert, from Jasspa's teachers who provided the most varied and inspiring programme, to our pupils and parents for making this a sell out event and to the many volunteers who baked cakes, served drinks and provided information about this very worthy charity. This concert was a privilege for JASSPA to host, with fantastic music making from a very committed team of musicians and teachers and guest performance from David Juritz, violinist and founder of Musequality.
Over £800 was raised for Musequality at Sunday's concert. Special mention goes to JASSPA's 'cello teacher Bettina Lawrence, who had friends and family sponsor her 10 pence a note for her performance of Saint Saen's The Swan. With 112 notes to play, and at 10 pence per note Bettina raised over £325!!
£1500 has been raised to date and more is coming in. Well done everyone!
