Pre-prep
Our Pre-Prep School has its own premises in substantial grounds a few hundred yards from JAGS and the Middle School. Its large, friendly Edwardian house fosters a happy, family atmosphere that introduces girls of 4-7 to
school in a relaxed but purposeful manner.
Most of the school day is spent in the Pre-Prep but children use the JAPS/JAGS swimming pool and benefit from the wider context of the larger school.
Much of the curriculum focuses on gradually building up the key skills in reading, writing and number work. Lessons encourage curiosity and growing independence. We pay heed to the National Curriculum, though we seek to challenge and stimulate children beyond those boundaries.
Our 'Golden Leaf ' merit system encourages and rewards the girls' good deeds and best efforts in work. We pay heed to the Early Years' Foundation Stage Framework as well as the National Curriculum.
