Parental Contact

We actively encourage parents to meet staff and to feel welcome at JAPS. Class Teachers are, of course, available at the beginning and end of each day. The opportunity for a fuller discussion with the Class Teacher, Head of Pre-Prep School or Headteacher can always be arranged. In addition, there are Parents' Evenings for each year group and written reports are sent home twice a year.

Parents are also automatically members of the Parents' Association, whose Committee is extremely active in organising social events for both children and parents, assisting at many school functions throughout the year, including regular second-hand clothing and uniform sales.

Parents' Evenings

We have two Parents' Evenings a year for each age group, the dates of which are published in the school calendar. These evenings give parents and staff an opportunity to discuss the children's work and progress. The first Parents' Evening is in the Autumn Term and the second evening is towards the end of the Spring Term. In addition, we have Curriculum Evenings at the beginning of each academic year, when the staff who will be teaching your child will explain the year's syllabus. The Year 3 Curriculum Evening takes place before children join the Middle School at the end of the preceding Summer Term.

Reports

Written reports are sent twice a year.
