Homework

Every child at JAPS has a Home Book, which serves two main purposes: it is a link between parents and teachers, and it contains details of homework. Parents are expected to sign the Home Book every night and the Class Teacher checks it every morning. Parents should feel free to use the Home Book as a means of written communication with the Class Teacher.

Homework allocation per day:

Year 3      20 minutes, Monday - Thursday / 35 minutes on Friday

Year 4      45 minutes, Monday - Thursday / up to 60 minutes on Friday

Year 5      60 minutes, Monday - Thursday / 75 minutes on Friday

Year 6      60 minutes, Monday - Thursday / 75 minutes on Friday
(occassionally, this total will be extended by 30 minutes if a Maths practice paper is being done at home).

The aim of homework is to encourage the children to work alone and get into a good working practice.
