The sixth form Spanish group and their teachers made the most of a long weekend in Sevilla, their first foray into Andalucia. The Spanish students walked round Sevilla's old quarter, pausing in the Plaza de España, enjoying the intricate detail of the architecture of la giralda (the tower) and the beautiful, gothic cathedral, one of the largest in Europe. They were enchanted by the patio of orange trees and quickly got used to imagining life in the Real Alcazar (royal palace) with its Moorish influenced design. The university, a former tobacco factory, is an impressive building and they were delighted to meet the Director of International Studies and to learn more about the student Erasmus programme.
